About

Welcome to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area's newest premiere theater auditorium and meeting venue located in the heart of the Mansfield Independent School District.

The Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts is a dual-purpose facility intended to serve Mansfield ISD students, staff and surrounding communities. The facility was first proposed to the MISD community in August 2009 through a series of blog posts, school board meetings, presentations and discussions with local officials. In November 2009, the massive site was officially named for two former school district officials: Dr. Claude Cunningham and Mr. John Washington. In December 2021, the venue was renamed after former superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas whose leadership transformed The Center into a community hub featuring Grammy-winning performances and community events.

The approximately 142,000 square foot building features a premier stage and a spacious performance hall with seating capacity of 5,500. The multi-functional professional development center on the opposite side of the facility is designed to meet an array of meeting, training and banquet needs. The grand ballroom accommodates up to 500 and can be divided into six break-out rooms. The professional development area also includes three computer labs for technology presentations and trainings for up to 30 people each.
